U7

U7 (Born 2020/21/22)

Any child that is 4,5 or 6 years old in the calendar year. If you are registering a child that is 4 years old, a parent or guardian will be required to join the coaching staff.  

FAQ

• Required Equipment : Helmet with full cage, shoulder pads, kidney guard, elbow pads, gloves , shorts , knee pads (optional) , box lacrosse stick, water bottle. **mouth guards are not required as this level is not full contact. However some do choose to use them. 
• Practices will be Wednesday every week from 5-6 pm. These will be held at the DCC Soccer Pitch. U7 is consistently at this time for the duration of the season. 
• There will be a minimum of 2 jamboree weekends, potentially 3. Jamboree weekends include 3 games per team. Locations have been in Edmonton in the past. Coaches and Managers will update RAMP when the schedules are made available by the GELC. More information will be provided as it comes available. 
• Season runs from the beginning of April to the second weekend of June. 

All Volunteers that will have contact with the children will need to submit a vulnerable persons criminal record check. The Fort Saskatchewan Minor Sports Association provides forms so that you do not need to pay for this service.

U7 Coach

• Practices will be Wednesdays 5-6 pm. All U7 teams will be on the pitch at the same time. Practices should include warm up, drills and eventually scrimmage. Remember they are young and our super power will be putting skill development inside of all the FUN! 
• 2-3 Jamboree Weekends: include 3 games each weekend.

U7 Manager 

• League Responsibilities for U7 can be found on the GELC Website Manager Resources
• Collect Respect in Sport Numbers for those that have not yet added them to their RAMP account. You can reach out to Rebels Registrar to find out who has not yet submitted. 
• Association Fundraising: 2026 Season Information to Come. 
• Team Fundraising: Unnecessary for U7. There may be an occasion where you want to collect a small cash call from parents for an end of year party or player/coach year end gifts. That is to each team’s discretion. 
• Picture day will be on April 18th, 2026. Please create an event in RAMP to save the date. A link for booking time slots will be made available to Team Managers after team formation.
